About the Podcast

The Student Pilot Cast came about simply because of my love of flying, and my desire to record the events of finally getting my private pilot certificate.  I had enjoyed listening, watching, and reading much of the other content back in the day that aviators and enthusiasts have published on the Internet.  I frequently listened to the PilotCast, The Finer Points, The Pilot Flight PodLog by Will Hawkins, Uncontrolled Airspace, Fly with Me, and other aviation related podcasts while I’m driving or working out, etc.  I have often wanted to be able to listen to the happenings of students as well, and while there are several blogs that do this, I hadn’t found audiocasts that did this (since then I’ve discovered several, inlcuding Will’s old podcast, the Student Pilot Flight PodLog, and Greg’s awesome video cast, The Student Pilot Journal, but those all came and went).  Because I am in a position to do this, I thought I would share with others what I would have liked myself, and add to all of the wonderful content already out there.  I’ve taken breaks along the way when I wasn’t able or in a postion to provide more content, but since my aviation journey continues, I keep coming back to the podcast as my outlet to give to the community.  I have found that there is something special about audio as the medium, and specifically taking listeners into the cockpit with me while I learn.  Whether that learning is from a CFI, a more experienced pilot, or simply from my gaining of experience, it doesn’t really matter that much.  Learning is learning, and I have this opportunity to take enthusiasts and other pilots with me, so I do.  We are all hopefully learning together so while I want people to have fun listening and watching, I also want the time to be well spent and full of value, so I press on.  I hope you come with me.

Who am I?
